INTERNAL COMPLAINT COMMITTEE

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) has been established by the Valluvar College of Science and Management to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere to the Staff and students of the college. Internal Complaint Committee has well-developed guidelines and norms for a policy to uphold zero tolerance towards sexual harassment. The College has entrusted the task of developing principles and procedures for combating sexual harassment to this cell. The Cell promotes measures aimed at achieving gender equality, removal of gender bias or discrimination, sexual harassment and other acts of gender based violence by organizing awareness programmes and campaigns for the benefit of all the members of the college.

Valluvar College has committed itself to provide a congenial and conducive atmosphere in which students, teachers and non-teaching staff can work together in an environment free of violence, harassment, exploitation, and intimidation. This includes all forms of gender violence, sexual harassment, and discrimination on the basis of gender. Every member is expected to be aware of the commitment to the right to freedom of expression and association, it strongly supports gender equality and opposes any form of gender discrimination and violence.

Objectives :

  • Encourage gender tolerance in the classroom and the workplace to stop discrimination and sexual harassment of female students and employees.
  • To ensure that everyone studying or working at the college is treated with respect and without harassment.
  • To address any allegations of harassment.
  • To enforce good sanitary practices and maintain a healthy environment both in and around the college.
  • To ensure overall wellbeing of students and staff of the college.
  • To plan programmes for raising awareness of gender issues.
